Overview
An elegant and finely detailed Chambolle-Musigny from La Croix de Brully, capturing the delicacy and aromatic lift for which the appellation is renowned. The 2023 shows vivid red fruit and floral perfume over a precise, finely structured palate, delivering intensity without heaviness and a distinctly refined expression of Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir.
Vineyard
The Pinot Noir vines are grown at approximately 250–300 metres altitude on an east-facing slope. A thin layer of soil lies over hard Jurassic limestone, with roots penetrating fissures in the underlying rock. This limestone-dominant terroir contributes to the wine’s combination of tension, finesse and depth.
Tasting Notes
Bright ruby in colour, with a delicate, lively appearance. The nose opens with violets, raspberries and wild strawberries, showing perfume and precision. With air, more savoury notes of spiced fruit, forest floor and subtle truffle emerge. The palate is fine and cohesive, balancing clear red fruit with firm structure, freshness and depth through an elegant finish.
Producer
La Croix de Brully is a family operation based in Beaune, with holdings across 23 Burgundy appellations from the Côte Chalonnaise to the Côte de Nuits. Its vineyards include sites in Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Chambolle-Musigny. The vineyards are organically farmed with an emphasis on purity of fruit and expression of terroir.
