The 2022 Rockford Basket Press Shiraz is one of the most celebrated traditional Shiraz wines from the Barossa Valley, renowned for its depth, richness, and old-world craftsmanship. Fruit for this wine is sourced from a network of old-vine Shiraz vineyards across the Barossa and Eden Valleys, many planted on their own roots and managed by long-standing grower families. The 2022 vintage delivered fruit with excellent ripeness and structure, producing a wine of generous flavour concentration while maintaining freshness and harmony.
True to its name, the wine is pressed using traditional basket presses before maturation in seasoned oak barrels for an extended period. This time-honoured approach allows the wine to develop depth and complexity while preserving the integrity of the fruit and the character of the vineyards.
