Coriole’s Lloyd Reserve represents the pinnacle of the estate’s long association with McLaren Vale Shiraz. The highly acclaimed 2010 vintage is a concentrated, structured and exceptionally age-worthy expression, earning 97 points from Jeremy Oliver and 95 points from Halliday Wine Companion. Producer
Founded by Hugh and Molly Lloyd in 1967, Coriole remains a Lloyd family-owned estate in the hills of McLaren Vale. Shiraz is central to both Coriole and the region’s winemaking heritage, with the estate’s oldest vineyards dating to 1919. Coriole owns or manages most of the vineyards from which its fruit is sourced and handles individual vineyard blocks separately to maximise their potential.
The estate is also recognised for its innovative spirit. Coriole pioneered Sangiovese and Italian varieties in Australia from the 1980s and planted Australia’s first Fiano in 2001. Today, the estate combines traditional winemaking with a strong focus on vineyard expression and sustainable farming.
