The 2001 Lake’s Folly Cabernets Half Bottle is a rare and beautifully matured example of one of Australia’s most historic Bordeaux-style blends. Produced by Lake’s Folly, this wine reflects the estate’s long-standing philosophy of elegance, restraint, and exceptional ageing potential.

Lake’s Folly Cabernets is traditionally led by Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, crafted in a classical style that prioritises balance and savoury complexity over sheer power. The Hunter Valley’s warm climate and unique conditions produce Cabernet blends with moderate alcohol, fine structure, and the ability to age gracefully for decades.

The 2001 vintage delivered wines of excellent concentration and longevity, and after more than two decades of bottle age, this release has evolved into a harmonious and tertiary-driven expression. The 375ml half-bottle format has encouraged slightly faster maturation, allowing the wine to enter a beautiful drinking window while still retaining freshness and structure.
