Aromatically, of course, the Viognier rides high on this wine, with notes of apricot blossom and green apple. The fruit was intentionally harvested early in order to avoid the native unctuousness that is endemic to the Viognier grape. In the mouth, the wine is textural and rich, long and piercing. I like it so much. The Chardonnay and Pinot Gris harness or restrict the Viognier, and yet the irrepressible nature of Viognier exudes through the wine. This is a ripping little wine.
