The vineyard sits on steep slopes composed of terres blanches — chalk subsoils with thin clay and limestone topsoil, the same geological vein found in Chablis.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Cotat family has tended vines on the slopes of Monts Damnés since the end of World War II.
